Figure out chaperone plans
Whether you’re the parent of a teen attending prom or in charge of organizing the event, make sure there’s a plan for supervising and chaperoning students in place. Most schools allow parents to volunteer as chaperones, whereas others may rely more heavily on the teachers and staff. Either way, it’s important to have a group of responsible adults to keep an eye out.
Explore entertainment options
Music is a must for proms, but there are other entertainment options worth exploring as well besides a typical DJ. Consider, for instance, a professional or DIY photo booth with fun props, or even inflatable slides and other rentals to keep people busy in between dancing and mingling. These extra entertainment options are also great for those in attendance who don’t feel like dancing.
Choose a fun theme
The possibilities for themed proms are endless! Consider allowing students to take a vote on which prom theme they’d like, having them select from a pre-determined list of feasible choices. From there, you can come up with fun games, prizes, and props to suit the theme and make the entire evening one to remember.
